March 2004 - The weather on St. Joseph Peninsula (Cape San Blas on the Florida Gulf)
was perfect for our weekend backpack March 12-14. Ten of us hiked the
three miles into the wilderness preserve and spent two nights in a pine grove
behind the highest dunes in Florida. It was still too cool for swimming, but
the sun was fine and the scenery gorgeous as always. Our group included
three new backpackers who now claim to be hooked.
