Join WNG members and visitors at the Red Top Mountain State Park Pioneer Campground on Lake Allatoona. This is an annual member get together and our largest event of the year. The campsite is right on the water’s edge in a private cove and there is a lot of space to spread out. Feel free to come for the day or the weekend.

Saturday afternoon Doug Caulkins will have kayaks available and he’ll be glad to teach anyone who is interested how to kayak. He’s not planning anything that formal; if you’re interested, he’ll be there and he’ll show you how it’s done.

September 2008 - Success! On our second attempt this year, five of us completed the entire Conasauga River Trail over the Labor Day weekend. Weather, company, food, and pool-dipping were all excellent.

January 2006 - The WNG executive committee held its annual winter retreat at Fort Mtn. at the end of January and managed to get a lot of business done, besides enjoying a sunny hike along the mysterious stoneworks around the mountain top before the rain set in that night. We are fortunate to have such a congenial group of leaders.

Reggie Barton teaches CPR
January/February 2006 - Reggie Barton did a great service to WNG on a Saturday in early February by giving an excellent, entertaining presentation on wilderness first-aid. We each had our own personal mouth part to practice on for CPR, and after the jokes and laughter died down, we learned a great deal about saving lives. Look for another session on the calendar and try to attend.
